There's not really much to say about this little recipe except that it is simple and delicious in that way that makes you feel momentarily better about everything in your life. Maybe the lavender is the source of its calming effect. In any event, the unusual flavors really come together for a tartine that is now one of my staples. It is a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.
RICOTTA, HONEY, AND LAVENDER TARTINE
Time: 5 minutes
2 slices fresh French bread
1/4 cup Ricotta Cheese
3 tbsp raw slivered or chopped Almonds
Lavender, to taste
Honey, to taste
1.) Lightly toast your bread (or not).
2.) Spread the Ricotta onto the bread, 2 tbsp for each slice.
3.) Add Almonds and Lavender seeds.
4.) Drizzle with honey.
5.) Smile and indulge.
